About Historic St Francis de Sales

        Our History

Founded in 1860, St Francis was the regional Catholic Church until it was deconsecrated in 1963. I understand that the population hub shifted from this community (Rodey) to Hatch. So a new Catholic Church was built in Hatch. St Francis has been in private ownership since 1963, and I am lucky enough to be the latest owner.

A little more about Children staying at St Francis

Parents, Please read the following carefully.

        Safety issues:

        · There is a lack of childproofing features including outlet covers, baby gates, cribs, locked cabinets. There are cleaning chemicals within reach. There are steep non-childproofed stairs on the property. The property’s gate is open to traffic outside the gate. There are other guests on the property. There may be untrained service or comfort animals, that I cannot limit, on the property. There is breakable décor throughout this Historical Property. There are sharp corners and edges. There is an open wood burning Kiva and a woodburning stove posing burn hazards to the touch. There are standing items that can tip over on a child.

        · This is an Historical Property. All walking areas are uneven. Rooms have steps at different heights and in unexpected places. Doorways are different sizes. Doors and windows may not open and close in an expected fashion. Any mishandling can cause breakage.

        Other issues:

        • There are no entertainment features such as TV, a pool, a      playground, or toys for children.
        • Since there are other guests on the property,      children may not run around and play in such a way as to disturb other      guests. Which means there is no place to play on this property. Any      complaints by other guests will result in an additional fee of $200 per      child.
        • If guests      cause damage that’s beyond normal wear and tear, we expect them to pay      reasonable requests for reimbursement if they’re responsible for damage,      missing items, or unexpected cleaning costs.
